A digital sketch I made in 1 hour and 40 minutes. I’m surprised how this turned out considering it’s the first digital sketch I’ve ever done of a real person,... and Wheatley.
I suppose most people who’s a fan of Portal 2 would recognize this face right away (If my illustration of him is not too crappy, that is. XP )
He’s Stephen Merchant, the British comedian who’s the voice behind this loveable Core, Wheatley. Also, If you've listened to Ricky Gervais' podcast, you'll know him as well. Karl Pilkington was the most hillarious one there, though. (In my opinion anyway.)
I had this idea of them together in mind for a long time now (not a new idea, actually.) and wanted to try if I can make a bit of a caricature out of someone’s face, so yeah, here he is. Just don’t zoom too close or you’ll see how rough this work actually is.
Comments are most welcome!
Oh, and, I know it's not exactly a portrait, ...just a little reference to the game's achievement. Another thing is that Wheatley's actually much bigger than this, but I wanted Steve to be able to hold him, so yeah.
Most people tend to portray human appearance of Wheatley as Stephen Merchant's. And I have to agree, especially if that voice actor is one of the funniest comedian and writer out there.
this is so cute X3 ...and he did an amazing job ...me and my boyfriend would just wait and wait for ages just to listen to more things he would say if we didn't do what Wheatley said immediatly....XDXD
Indeed he did! It's amazing how he can make a metal ball with just an eye so dynamic and hillarious, not to mention loveable. This might be the only game that I enjoy standing around and do nothing just to hear a character say something. xD
Epic work
you got their good looks, that's for sure
Thank you very much.
